Welcome Baby provides 50.A. County meaning women and new moms with data, support and a trusted partner to assist y'all through the journey of pregnancy and early parenthood.
This free and voluntary program from Offset 5 LA offers the following during pregnancy and throughout your baby'south first nine months, and can include the following:
- An in-infirmary visit where you volition receive aid with breastfeeding and information nearly bonding and attachment, taking care of your baby, and resources your family may demand as yous transition into motherhood
- A personal Parent Coach who meets with y'all and your family in the comfort and convenience of your domicile
- Information and support on breastfeeding, home safety and other topics
- An in-habitation appointment with a nurse within the offset few days after delivering at the hospital
- Referrals to additional resource to assist you lot and your infant
- Babe- and mom-friendly items such as thermometers, nursing pillows, toys and baby-proofing supplies for the dwelling house
The program is available to all L.A. County families at no cost, who evangelize or plan to deliver at 1 of 13 participating Welcome Infant hospitals, regardless of income status. Welcome Babe will benefit families in different ways based upon where they live and their specific needs.
Nearly WELCOME BABY
Welcome Infant is a component of Best Start – a multi-twelvemonth effort created past First 5 LA that aims to shape, strengthen and support L.A. WHAT IS A PARENT Motorbus?
A Parent Coach supports moms both during pregnancy and following birth. She provides health intendance and parenting education and information, support, and resources, as well every bit help with breastfeeding and baby-proofing homes to ensure the healthy and rubber development of both mom and baby. WHAT DOES A PARENT COACH Do DURING WELCOME Infant VISITS?

- Assist families in establishing a medical home, following upward on well-child visits and identifying health insurance coverage, if necessary
- Educate parents about the parent-child bond and how it can build confidence and success
